It hasn’t been exactly warm here, but it hasn’t snowed so I’m not complaining. Had a blast at La Jolla Country Day and am doing it all over again at the Chadwick School which I think is just outside LA. (The geography of Los Angeles confuses me. The greater LA area feels as big as Vermont. All I know is that if you’re looking at the ocean, you’re facing west.)
Frozen Chadwickians. They aren’t quite used to the brisk temperatures out here. But they are really nice.
The Writing Workshop – highlight of the day for me!!
My hotel is interesting. The people in the room next door have deadly boring lives which they detailed LOUDLY on the phone last night for hours. Argh. And the guy who decided that it was a good idea to race his motorcycle around the parking lot when I was trying to sleep? I wanted to introduce him to the Boring People. Maybe they could have talked him to death or something. But except for those two things, this has been a stellar trip and I’ve had the chance to hang out with fantastic people, so it’s all good.

CA is cold now, isn’t it? It’s killing me. I wish it’d rain and get warmer.
NOTE: In quite a few places if you’re looking at the ocean you’re facing south. Dabblam peninsula’s and stuff.
Like Signal Hill in Long Beach for instance.
ARGH – don’t confuse me!!! I always feel soooooo lost in LA.
It is warmer today… hope that helps.
It is. The beautiful norm has returned to SoCal.
Are you going to the Ashes and Snow art exhibit at the Santa Monica Pier while you’re there? We went a couple of weeks ago because of a link that someone put in her blog…oh, that was you! 😉
No time, but I’m really glad you enjoyed it.
Yes the LA area is the epitome of sprawl. I’ve been out here for almost 5 years now and I’m still amazed by it. 🙂
All I know is that if you’re looking at the ocean, you’re facing west.
yes yes yes!!! Having lived in CA for over 20 years of the first part of my life, that was my mantra. Until I moved to Upstate NY and having the ocean on the wrong side totally screwed me up! I’d make a turn and Bob would say, “No! Go East!” And I’d say, “I am!” (because in my head I envisioned where the ocean was and turn the opposite way). Someone ought to fix the ocean on the East Coast! LOL I eventually got my directions straightened out, but only because I would envision the Pacific ocean (still west) instead of the Atlantic! 😉 Wave hello to the ocean for me! I’ll be there soon!
Lol…I live in Palos Verdes and I still get lost. -jordan
