What I love about being on book tour:
1. Meeting teen readers.
2. Meeting readers who happen to be teachers and librarians and adults with really good taste in literature.
3. Meeting booksellers.
What I don’t love about being on book tour:
1. Not sleeping.
2. Airport security lines.
3. Lack of time to write or exercise.
The good news is that what I like about tour outweighs what I don’t like about tour massively. But there is one ache that always lingers.
I miss my husband.
I only have a couple days to go. I get to talk to him several times a day, and we squeezed in a Skype visit a while back. But it’s still hard. And I’m pretty sure he feels the same way.
Because he sent flowers to my hotel room.

Yesterday was a stunning day. I was on TV, Good Morning, Atlanta, spoke at a conference, and had a few interviews as well as an evening event. That’s where I reconnected with
Terra McVoy, manager of Decatur’s Little Shop of Stories and author of the forthcoming YA novel, PURE.

I have some great pics from Texas and Mississippi to share, and I have to tell you about the Horrifying Wheatgrass Incident (from which I am finally recovered, thank heavens) but it will have to wait, because my ride is here.
