  6. I discovered your journal this morning via Sarah Dessen’s journal and I have added you as a friend. I hope you don’t mind.

    I am a professional bookseller, and one of my areas of expertise is teen fiction. Thus, I recommend Speak highly and often, and I included the title in my presentation at the California State Librarians Association Conference in 2002. I also hope to see the film once it is available to the public.

    Congratulations on the success of PROM. I read it earlier this week, so – good timing! 🙂

    I’ve taught the cats to dial 911…this could work!

      1. Yeah, but I had to make them stop when I realized they would only call if they thought they could get the firemen to bring them tuna and scratch thier ears. You know…I didn’t realize before, but those cats may be on to something?

  35. Hey, I finished PROM two minutes ago. I loved it, especially your last sentence. I had a question, though… where DID Ashley get those library fines? Call me deranged, but I couldn’t stop thinking about that.

  38. Woot also added you from Sara’s Love your books and encourage all my friends to read them. Speak was given to me be my old drama teacher as a birthday preasant i thank her and you for making it possible for me to read such great literature.
    Congrats on making it the top ten! maybe another Prom is in order for this! bring out the wine and sparkling apple cider for they youngers, this should be celebrated in style!

    I was wondering if anyone has ever asked for your permission to turn Speak into a play? My friend and I wanted to do it so that our drama department could put it on for our 11th graders who read it.. just for our high school though

    First off, CONGRATULATIONS!

    I knew it wouldn’t take long to get on the list! It’s selling like crazy! 🙂

    Second, I work at Border’s Bookstores in Fairfield, CT. (About 45 min from Greenwich).. I am scared to ask, but what would it take for you to come do a signing at our store? I would be thrilled as I have been a fan since the beginning days of Speak. 🙂 I don’t know how the process of signings works (I just started here a month ago) but if you could give me some information to give to my manager, I’m sure she’d be psyched to have you! Besides, the prom idea sounds so fun! I had such a horrible senior prom last year so it would be quite a fun way to make up for it. Ha well I’ve taken up enough of your time but if you could find a minute to let me know that’d be so great. My email is watchtheskyy@hotmail.com. 🙂

You and Sarah Dessen are my favorite writers, and have been an inspiration to me. I want to be a writer when I get older. Thank you for being such a great writer!
