A special kind of home brew for the Forest

Science geeks: we are making home-brew poison ivy killer with 20-grain vinegar, clove oil, and baby oil. Any of youse tried this @home?

  1. Horticultural Vinegar

    Hi, Laurie,
I’m trying horticultural vinegar on some tenacious wiry-stemmed vinca major that is sneaking into my vegetable garden. Orange oil was recommended as an additive but the first trial was sans any oil. Wonder if the oil makes the vinegar “stick” to the foliage? As recommended, we waited for a hot day (we’re in California) and saw results in only a few hours… Some of the vinca returned but looks kind of puny. I’m encouraged….
