  1. Laurie, your vlogs are funny, charming, wise. As a country girl who now lives in the CITY and has no dirt of her own, I also happen to find them centering, and extremely comforting (even if they make me a little homesick). Thanks for starting the vlogging! :o)

  2. I can’t wait to share this with my creative writing students! We are talking about beginnings and ideas right now as they prepare to begin novels. These 7th grade girls (and I) LOVE your work.

Thanks for sharing your gardening plans – I just started getting into gardening this past summer, but come from a long line of W.Va vegetable growers!

  3. I love hearing about your garden! I am hoping to start one too this year. I have a great corner in my yard for it.

Anyway, good vlog. I’m so glad you’re vlogging now. It’s a different sort of connection between readers and authors than a blog. I like it.

  4. Buckwheat

BUCKWHEAT IS THE BEST! It’s beautiful when in bloom. It’s easy to chop before turning under into the soil. And best of all, Buckwheat brings in so many pollinators and helpful insects. If you have a bee keeper nearby, the bees will be delirious with happiness (I know this, I’ve seen the bees smile), and the music/humming/buzzing that they make when gathering pollen is fascinating.
