Monday madness

Thanks to everyone who ignored the gorgeous weather, the Bills game, and the Giants game to come out to the bookstore yesterday. The crowd was much bigger than I thought and I stayed for a very long time chatting and signing. I hope to have some photos to post soon.

I have already been working on my revision for a couple of hours. I should be able to ship off Part 1 this afternoon. I sure hope so – I am desperate to go to the gym.

In the breaking news category: FEVER 1793 will soon be translated into Korean, TWISTED has been nominated for The Heartland Award, and next month, a stage version of SPEAK will premiere at both Fayetteville-Manlius High School and Nottingham High School.

I leave you library lovers with a little game to play…

Happy Birthday, Doris Noble Prize Winner Lessing!

  1. You were at Barnes & Nobles yesterday? Sniff… sniff… face starting to crinkle… eyes watering. WAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! Feet stomping, arms flailing!!!!! Tell me it aint so! I can’t believe we missed you! My 14 year old daughter and I are just dying to meet you! Is there any chance of you making an appearance at the Barnes & Nobles in Dewitt?

  2. you’ve read the Fifth Child by her, right?
it makes me terrified of having children. i’m so sure i’m going to get some dwarf baby that terrorizes the other children and murders puppies at night.
    *shudder*

  3. All of those kinds of rights are held by Farrar, Straus & Giroux. (I didn’t have an agent when I sold SPEAK.)

Your best bet is to contact them.

I’ll be posting more about the local stage productions around here as we get closer to them. The man who is at the heart of them, Steve Braddock, did a great production of FEVER 1793 at the Gifford Family Theater in Syracuse NY a couple of years ago.

  4. It was good to see you again and get “the scoop” on everyone. 😉

    little quirk

PS-I took your advice. I gave up on homework last night (mostly because I didn’t understand it), watched a little tv and went to bed early. 🙂

  5. Thanks!

I really enjoyed hearing you speak at Barnes and Nobles yesterday. I work at the high school level and it is wonderful to have a writer that understands what it is like to be a young adult – it’s not always fun! Also while reading your bio I noticed your parents names were Frank and Joyce – how funny, so are mine! Thanks again for inspiring teachers!

  6. Boo!

Sorry I missed you yesterday at BN – so much going on these days!!! Thanks again for all you do for CNY – we love you here!

Hi to Lisa from Rick if you see her – I’m not in Oswego much anymore.
    Ciao!

  7. Boo!

Sorry for not making it to BN yesterday – so much going on in life right now!!!
Thanks again for all you do for CNY – we love you here!

Also, say Hi to Lisa from Rick if you see her – I am not in Oswego much anymore. Ciao!

  8. Aww, I remember you did a book signing down here but I had driver’s ed and I couldn’t miss anymore days. I was bummed until I somehow ran into a girl who had a copy of the book signed at my local bookstore, and I was so happy, she gave it to me :). Anyways, I’m glad everyone came out to talk to you, it sounds like it would have been fun.

Speak in a play. How could I get the script to the people behind the plays at my high school? XD.
