PROM in Texas

The Young Adult Round Table of the Texas Library Association included PROM on their 2006-2007 Tayshas Reading List. Thank you!

Check out the discussion of the SPEAK movie on IMDB. Recent posts have discussed the commentary that director Jessica Sharzer and I did for the DVD. It’s fun to read them.

I spent a boring, irritating morning being tortured having medical tests performed on my body. Nothing scary, just normal mid-life stuff. Still it felt like a total waste of time and energy. Now I will blast the roof off the house with my new playlist, Raw, and make up more stuff for my book. If you like the idea of combining books and playlists, this might be for you.

  1. I tend to create playlists for each individual story I am writing, depending on the mood of my writing…if that is what you mean. It helps keep the creative juices movin and groovin

  4. great job

I am a former high school English teacher and current Catholic seminarian. I read Speak in a course on YA Lit. and fell in love with the book! I went out and bought Fever 1793 and Catalyst and loved both of those too! Just wanted to send a note saying thanks for writing good books and I can’t wait until your WIP is finished and released. Any chance of writing some more historical fiction? That is a great way to teach history and make it fun and interesting at the same time. Keep up the great work!

p.s. Don’t worry about the medical tests, that’s just about how I feel anytime I go to the doctor and am not sick.

Once this WIP is finished, I’ll be diving into a new historical fiction, so stay tuned to this channel. Thanks for your comments about medical tests and best of luck at seminary…. wait… is that the right thing to say? Hmmm… I hope seminary is an enriching experience for you. Is that better?

I’d love to know what your Christmas music recommendations are! I will start listening to Christmas music this weekend.

I think I’ll post the playlists for my WIP once it is finished.

BTW – my April is busy, I don’t think that we’re going to cross paths in NYC. But you need to know I am keeping an eye on you… I’m so proud of all you have accomplished. Keep up the good work!

I love the new (at least to me)song about Christmas by the the GooGoo Dolls, very poignant, and if course Happy Christmas (War is Over) by John Lennon. If you’re into bizarre try to find the soundtrack from a Bing Crosby 1970’s special that had him singing a Christmas duet with David Bowie. For old time just sing the traditional songs in a pleasant voice I pick Andy Williams and we all love Mitch Miller sing-a-longs. Can you tell I’m a baby boomer!
