  1. I absolutely cannot believe it…

I heard about it as soon as I walked into my 7th period class, as my teacher’s niece goes there. She’s okay, but what an absolutely awful and unbelievable thing.

  2. I was locked in the University Bookstore at Virginia Tech (where I work) from about 9 to about 1. So far all my friends and people I know are OK, but a girl I used to work with was in the building where most of the shootings took place. I’m in total shock. I feel safe on that campus. I’ve fallen asleep on benches in that building (Norris). All the pictures on TV and online are of places I know and love covered by police officers with guns and flashing lights. It’s unreal. I can’t wrap my head around it.

  3. I’m glad that you are ok. I just e-mailed my friend who goes there and she is ok.She was by the the dorm but didn’t hear the shots until she noticed a bunch of people were running. From what I heard, the school will be shutdown for the rest of the week.

  4. This is too horrific for words. Our college campuses, and schools, are supposed to be safe places. Thoughts and prayers go out to the VA Tech community and their families.

  5. Truly awful. My heart goes out to the families and friends who are grieving today when they should have been celebrating the end of the school year.

  6. Such a horrific event, I’m just watching CNN now. It seems so amazing that someone could manage to kill that many people. God. My prayers go out to everyone involved.

  7. I just wanted to let you know that I’m thinking about you, your friends, and your community. I’m a student at UNC Chapel Hill, and I can’t even begin to imagine what you all are trying to get through. I hope that you all are able to pull together and heal together, and that VT begins to feel like a safe place again at some point in your college career.

  8. This is so horrific. Words can’t even begin to express these intense and mixed emotions. Anger and sadness for one. A lot of questions. How could this happen? What made someone that angry? How did they get away with it? Why wasn’t the campus shut down when the first shootings happened?

I can’t even imagine what students of VA Tech are going through.

All I can say is that I pray dearly to God that healing may begin. And I pray that God be with those parents who will be soon getting the worst phone call of their lives to tell them that their son or daughter has died. I can only pray and pray and pray…

  9. My prayers are with all.

And sorry to be so bitter and angry- but maybe some adults who we trust our childrens LIVES with might THIS TIME around make an ATTEMPT to try to figure out solutions and TRY some changes so that the next time this happens (and sadly, it will) the numbers may be LESS the next time around.

(“Adults” meaning school staff-local safety forces and state and government officials)
