TWISTED Book Tour!

Fire up the engines, honey, it’s time to take this book on the road!

In about a month, I am the very lucky author who gets to visit 20 cities in 12 days, and (fingers crossed, toes crossed, jumping up and down) meet hundreds and hundreds of you guys in the process.

I am not sure exactly how the cities were chosen, except that I do know that an effort was made to get me to a couple of places I had not visited before.

There are three kinds of events on this tour. Because I write for teenagers, my smart publishers went to a lot of trouble to get me in front of them. I will be visiting 7 high schools in the course of this visit. (It was supposed to be 8, but administrators at one school apparently got spooked because of the nature of my books.) These SCHOOL EVENTS are not open to the public. Sorry. I wish they were.

A STOCK SIGNING is kind of a drive-by signing. It is not a formal book signing, but booksellers don’t seem to mind if people show up. Generally, the author sprints from the car to the store, signs a lot of books, gets to hang out with the booksellers (who tend to be very interesting people), then sprints back to the car.

A PUBLIC EVENT, is, well, open to the public. That means you and everybody you know are invited to hang out. Bring the dog, too. I like dogs.

If you see a gap of a couple of hours between events, I am sad to report it does not mean I can get together with you for coffee. Every minute of this tour is spoken for between traveling, speaking, lunches and dinners with librarians and booksellers, and – occasionally – sleep.

Enough babbling, let’s get to it!

  1. YOU’RE COMING TO HOUSTON! HOORAY! I AM SO EXCITED! =D

You’re also going to my old hometown (Bethlehem, PA). I pretty much grew up visitng the Moravian bookshop– it’s an adorable place. I’ll let my friends back home know about your event; I know a lot fo them would like to go.

I’m just really happy that you’re coming to my (new) city…

  2. OH! Menlo Park is closer to me! I may see you at the Menlo Park one instead of the Books INC one since that’s the day C flies in! see you then! 🙂

  3. Hmmm…I may just need to take a break from school around the 28th of April and come home. 😉

    little quirk

  4. !!! I can go to the Ann Arbor signing! I’ll also see if people from my Teaching English class want to go. Maybe you’ll get a whole troupe of future English teachers at that one 🙂

  5. Aaaah! BookPeople! Stock event! But you said we can still show up? BookPeople is THE BEST BOOKSTORE EVER!! It is my absolute favorite bookstore. So so cool. Soooo…. we can still come? But if you’re, like, in the back signing stuff, how will we find you?

I’d try sneaking into the high school, but now they have scary things like security guards and metal detectors, unlike back in my day (2001-2005, I know, I’m so old. :P).

  6. WhOOps!!!!! I have a good excuse I promise! Getting out to SF that evening might be hard. But I will TRY! I promise to make it to one of your events soonnnnnnn! Don’t hate me! 😉

  7. have a safe trip (and i can come to see you) 🙂

hi. it was great to hear back from you too. i asked my mom about may 11th and she said yes, so it looks like i will be able to see you again! =) ♥

  8. So sad, but not trying not to be selfish

No NYC, what a bummer. On the other hand, I spent the evening telling friends and relatives that you’ll be in Southfield (retired librarian Aunt), Birmingham (favorite sister in law) and Austin (former crush).

As they say in the big City, Safe travels my friend.

  9. You know, I fly on airplanes all the time, and I’ve never been read to OR sat next to anybody cool. (Though my sister did once travel on Jimmy Carter’s lap. Less creepy than it sounds, ’cause she was five or so at the time.) No fair.

  10. Oh goody! 🙂 I’ll have to buy a copy of Speak for you to sign! (I’ve actually bought copies of it to give to friends, but never one for myself.)

  11. Rochester, MI 48307

Tease! Rochester, NY doesn’t suck the life out of… life… THAT badly, does it? And I can’t make it to the Oswego signing.
    Boooo.
    Someday, Writer Lady… someday.

  12. Oh, I meant to ask. Is it better to go to a public event or a stock signing if I want a quick pictue and a book signing? I seriously have everything planned out. What I will wear, and what I will wear. “Hello, I’m Jess. I comment often on your blog. You know ificouldonly. I’ve waited so long to meet you. Can I get a picture? Can you sign my book? Can I possibly have a lock of your hair?” I was kidding about the lock of hair. Kinda. Lol.

  13. I hope you come to NYC

I hope more then anything you get a chance to come to NYC. I’ve always wanted to meet you ever since i read speak in freshmen year. I remember you came to Brooklyn to meet kids from my school but my para was sick so i couldn’t go and I’ve always regretted it. oh I hope you come you’ll always be my favorite author it would be a major dream come true to meet you though unfortunately thus far it has been an unattainable experience especially with my wheelchair it would be rather difficult for me to travel to the cities you’ve mentioned one of my greatest wishes is to meet you – Jessica

There may be a chance for a NYC signing. Stay tuned.

  16. Huzzah!

I am so excited that you’re coming to Texas. I don’t care if it’s 3 hours away, the fact that you’re coming is incredible! See you in Austin.
