  1. You are so cool

    Hey Laurie!

Wow this is cool. You have been my favorite YA writer since i picked up Speak (which is my favorite book hehe). I knew about your website, but had no clue you had a LJ. I love my LJ it’s what keeps me going. Well no my writing is what keeps me going. Anyways, I went to Barnes&Noble yesterday to get my copy of Prom ::happy dance:: It took the woman forever to find one because they had just came in that day. So she comes back from the back fifteen minuets later and hands me my copy telling me i was the first one in town to have have it. So i’m walking to the front to pay for it when i look down and see a gold ‘Signed Copy’ sticker on it. I didn’t believe it until i opened in up and saw that it was signed for real. I shrieked and totally freaked out right there in the middle of Barnes&Noble.

People looked at me as if i was insane as they past while i stood there holding my signed copy like a fragile newborn. So my day was so complete after that. I was bugging my friends calling them and telling them. They all know that you are my favorite YA writer. The only thing that could top my signed copy would be if you had been there! But alas you were somewhere else signing books and shaking hands.

I’m just so happy i found your LJ. Well i’m not going to bug you and blab about how i’m a writer or ask the famous ‘Can you get me published?’ crap. But yes i am a writer and yes my book is almost finished. And yes you are the biggest inspiration to me with your writing style and characters. So thank you for being so awesome.

I’ll continue to keep up with your LJ and leave you little comments or some of my stupid questions or thoughts.

    happy thoughts,
    Heather

  4. I am really excited to have come across your LJ because:
    1) I loved your book Speak
    and
    2) You are coming to my school to talk in a few days!

My English class will be there so I can appropriately say see you later!
